5 million women form a 620km human chain for equality in Kerala, India
The human chain was spearheaded by the left-wing government in the Indian state of Kerala, protesting against a traditional ban on women "of menstruating age" approaching the Hindu Sabarimala temple. India's supreme court overturned the ban in 2018, however, many women have still been prevented from approaching.
